Hyderabad: Lakshmi Manchu’s new film Pilavani Perantam was launched at a private studio on Tuesday.
The first shot was on Lakshmi Manchu and comedian Dhanraj. “After the launch, Dhanraj had been telling people that he was playing the lead opposite Lakshmi in the film. An offended Lakshmi has now asked the producers to remove or reduce his character to a cameo in the film,” says a source from the unit.
Lakshmi apparently was miffed when her friends asked her why she was acting opposite a small comedian. “She thus told the producers that she wanted to come out of the project if they didn’t show the door to Dhanraj,” adds the source. Venkanna Babu of Jagan Nirdoshi fame is directing the film.
