Bigg Boss is voyeuristic: Bhagyashree

Bhagyashree admits that she wasn’t much of a TV person until LAT happened

Mumbai: Bhagyashree, who made a smashing debut with Maine Pyaar Kiya opposite Salman Khan, had made her comeback with the television show Laut Aao Trisha (LAT).

She admits that she wasn’t much of a TV person, until LAT happened. “I do not really watch much TV. I had my hands full with other things, like travelling for one. It’s only after I signed LAT that I have started watching TV shows such as Ek Hasina Thi, Comedy Nights with Kapil and India’s Got Talent,” she says.

Hailing from a royal family, acting wasn’t the most natural choice of career for Bhagyashree. “My grandparents were a little skeptical, but they trusted my father’s decision.

He was very encouraging of me pursuing acting. Also, he knew the Barjatiyas well and was sure that I’ll be well taken care of. He only had one thing to say to me ‘Make sure you behave and carry yourself with dignity’.”

After a successful debut, didn’t she want to pursue her Bollywood dream further? “I guess men today are easier and adjust to the modern woman. When I got married, it was impossible to have a successful marriage if you did not invest time into it. I had my priorities in place. Besides, I’ve never really been the over ambitious sorts.”

We ask her if she’s in touch with her first co-star Salman Khan. “We only meet socially. Our lives are on two completely different tracks. But I wish him all the luck,” she says.

Bhagyashree admits that though she has opened up to television, reality TV is not something she’d ever be ready for. “I have been approached for Bigg Boss a few times, but I don’t think I can put my life on display. I am a very private person and the show is very voyeuristic.”
