Doha, Feb 14: In the 29th CDC cricket tournament Division -II title, Rapidrop triumphed with a dominant 38 runs win over Mumbai XII at Losail Cricket Complex, here.

Mumbai XII won the toss and put Rapidrop to bat first. Their decision was found alright till 12 overs. At 12 overs Rapidrop were 78 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. They lost all their top order bastsnmen, Jayu (8), Divyesh (0), Vijay (2), Manmit (9) Vincent (1), Jamai (8) and Kiran (1). But, their ever dependable all-rounder Sandeep with the other all-rounder Jigo punished the Mumbai XII bowlers in the last 8 overs and got 150 runs from the last 8 overs. They scored 25 runs from 13th over, 21 runs from 17th over, 26 runs from 18th over and 31 runs from 19th over. Sandeep was out in the 20th over after scoring 63 runs in 27 deliveries with the help of 8 sixes and 1 four. Jigo hit 76 runs from 23 deliveries with 9 sixes and 4 fours. Rapidrop posted a formidable 228 runs for 8 wickets on the board after completion of 20 overs.



For Mumbai XII, Sabir and Monthy took 2 wickets each, Nadeem, Shabab and Shaik had one wicket each.

In reply, Mumbai XII had a nervous start, losing wickets at regular intervals and managed to post only 37 runs for 6 wickets after completion of 8 overs. They lost their top order batsmen Sabir (6), Mohan (1), Sajan (7), Mudassir (1), Adam (4) and Nadeem (4). Thereafter the batsmen Shabab, Monty and Shabaz tried to keep the chase in control. Shabab made 34 and got out in 17th over. Monty made 42 and was out in 20th over. Shahbaaz remained not out with 51 runs. They managed to take the total to 190 runs in 20 overs, falling short by 38 runs.
