Puttur, Jan 29: As many as 19 swimmers from Puttur Aquatic Club (PAC) bagged 43 medals in the district level swimming competition conducted jointly by St Aloysius College and Mangalore Aquatic Club at the college swimming pool January 21. This was the maiden swimming competition held at the newly built pool.
A total of 33 swimmers from PAC had participated in the meet. All the swimmers train at Dr Shivarama Karantha Swimming Pool, Puttur. They are trained by coach Partha Varanashi, Vasanth Kumar, Niroop G R and Rohith.
Neil Mascarenhas of PAC bags bronze at South Zone Aquatic Championship
Neil Mascarenhas of PAC and a student of 9th standard from St Philomena High school, Puttur won a bronze medal in 50 mtr breast stroke clocking 33.31 at the prestigious South Zone Aquatic Championship held in Chennai on the January 26.
Neil will be participating in 200 mtr breast stroke at the national level swimming competition conducted by Khelo India at Thalka Thora stadium, New Delhi on the February 1.
Neil trains at Balawana Swimming Pool, Puttur under coach Partha Varanashi, Vasanth Kumar, Niroop G R and Rohit.
