Madrasas produce terrorists, says Shia board chief; Owaisi calls him 'joker'

Lucknow, Jan 9 (Deccan Chronicle): Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi on Tuesday made a controversial remark saying that "madrasas have produced terrorists".

He also questioned the number of engineers, doctors, and IAS officers being produced by madrasas.

"How many madrasas have produced engineers, doctors, IAS officers? Yes, but some Madrasas have produced terrorists," Rizvi said.

Rizvi said the madrasas should be affiliated to CBSE, ICSE, and should allow non-Muslim students.

He said that these institutions should be converted into convent schools which offer an optional subject of Islamic education.

He also said that he has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the matter.

Rizvi, reportedly, has mentioned in the letter that several madrasas were being used to aid terrorist activities.

Following Rizvi's remarks, President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi called him the "biggest joker, and the most opportunistic person".

Rizvi has sold his soul to RSS, he said.

He also challenged Rizvi to to show one madrasa where such teachings are imparted.

"If he has proof then he should go and show it to the Home Minister," Owaisi said.

What about the view of Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi Uttar Pradesh governor, Ram Naik, defence against the arms training by the right-wing militant group Bajrang Dal saying there was nothing wrong in ‘self-defence’ camps.

While replying to the queries of the media, Naik said:
"This arms training is for the purpose of self-defence. There should not be any objection from any quarter. The intention behind this exercise is what counts".
Photographs of the saffron cadres brandishing rifles, swords and even lathis (sticks) in the camps have gone viral on social media and news channels.

Such kind of mock drills can be conducted only by government agencies. Now organisations are conducting these in their own way, like we see ISIS, Hizbul Mujahideen and naxals doing it. I see this as a terrorist training.

Is Naik can Rizvi can answer,
    1. Under which constitution of India, Sangh Parivar can own lethal weapons which even retired military personal or off duty staff of armed person does not even have?
    2. When our armed forces are their to protect our borders and security, why do they need parallel army?
    3. How does this organisation get arms licence and hold separate drill without the authority of the Home ministry?

BJP firing their guns putting on the shoulders of Shia muslim community.
Fiirstly they able to convince to polerize their vote bank in last UP and Gujarat elections by promissing to provide them status for their community. Then they used randomly them in the issues like women empowerment (triple talaq, without mahram for haj) and now this. It iz very very uncortunate the BJP playing sectarian card within muslim community what USA did in Iraq. Mukhar Abbas Naqvi and Shahnawaz Hussain both belongs to Shia community are equally responsible for the development. Both have sold their faith and forgot one day they have to face the court of Alimghty Allah.

That is the reality which someone atleast has dared to speak and I am happy that it is coming from within the community. Reforms are a part of every civilization as it progresses, so there is a need to seperate formal education and Religion.
