Mangaluru: Teenage swimming sensation Aradhana Bekal earns laurels

Mangaluru, Dec 29: Aradhana Bekal, an eighth standard student of Sarojini Madhusoodhan Kushe School has earned name and fame in swimming by representing Karnataka in national level swimming championship competitions.

Aradhana, daughter of Muralidhar Bekal Hoode and Shailaja V R has a number of achievements to her credit.

The following is the summary of her achievements:

Secured eighth place with 25 minutes and 50 seconds in national level swimming competitions in sea held by Square off sports at Colva sea shore, Goa on February 22, 2015.

Selected at the age of eleven for the first time in the 61st national tournaments in Calcutta held by School games federation of India. She secured first prize in 250 meters, 100 meters and 200 meters breast stroke competitions held at Mardyur, Madhya Pradesh by Vidyabharathi on September 20, 2015.

Secured sixth place with 20 minutes and 26 seconds in national level 1 km sea swimming competitions at Colva, Goa held by Square off sports on November 29, 2015.

First prize in state level swimming competitions 50m, 100m Breast stroke, 33rd sub junior division held by Kerala Aquatic Association on May 27, 2016.

Twenty first and twentieth positions in 50m and 100m Breast Stroke respectively in 33rd sub junior national level swimming competitions in Bengaluru held by Swimming Federation of India on July 22, 2016.

Fifth, sixth and fifth positions respectively in 50m, 100m and 200m Breast Stroke in 64th state level women's wing swimming competitions held in Thiruvanantapuram by Kerala Aquatic Association on August 22, 2016.

Third prize and second prize respectively in 100m and 200m Breast stroke in women's wing district level Dasara tournaments on September 10, 2016.

Third, third and first prizes in 50m, 100m and 200m Breast stroke in state level swimming competitions for school children below 14 years in Bengaluru on October 19, 2016.

Ninth position in 200m Breast stroke in 62nd national sports tournaments held by School games federation of India in Rajkot, Gujarat on November 29, 2016.

Bronze medal in 50m Breast stroke and fourth position in 100m Breast stroke in below 12 years south zone level competitions held at Belagavi on January 8, 2017.

First, first and second prizes in 50m, 100m and 200m Breast stroke respectively in 44th junior division national level swimming championships for below 14 years held by Kerala Aquatic Association in Thiruvanantapuram, Kerala on May 5, 2017.

Seventeenth and tenth position in 50m and 100m Breast stroke respectively in 44th junior division competitions for below 14 years held by swimming federation of India in Pune, Maharashtra on July 3, 2017.

Third, fourth and fourth position in 50m, 100m and 200m Breast stroke respectively in 65th state level women's division competitions held in Thiruvanantapuram by Kerala Aquatic Association on August 7, 2017.

Second prize in 50m, 100m and 200m Breast stroke in state level competitions for below 14 years school children held in Bengaluru on October 16, 2017.

Sixth, fourth and fourth positions in 50m, 100m and 200m Breast stroke respectively in 63rd national tournaments held in Delhi on November 25, 2017.
