Madikeri: Ganapathi suicide - CBI team recovers one bullet from lodge

Madikeri, Nov 14 (DHNS): Following a Supreme Court directive, a team from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the suicide of DySP M K Ganapathi, visited the local Vinayaka Lodge on Tuesday where he had allegedly committed suicide.

The experts recovered one of the three bullets reportedly fired by the DySP before he ended his life.

The team, led by investigation officer Thalaimani, visited the lodge at 10 am and took the statements of the staff at the lodge. The forensic experts from Delhi opened room number 315 of the lodge and verified the fan and bed.

During their investigation, forensic experts recovered one bullet from the bed in the room occupied by the DySP. It was reported that before committing suicide, he had allegedly fired thrice on the bed using his revolver.

They also met Inspector Medappa, SI Bharath and Dr Shailaja who had conducted a post-mortem at the district hospital. The officials also collected the required documents and statements from Ganapathi's brother M K Machaiah and witnesses Belliappa and Jagan.

The team is yet to speak to the private TV channel whom Ganapathi had given an interview before committing suicide.

Why are you bringing Church and religion issues with regard to Ganapthy suicide. I am terribly pained the way, then the SI Ganapathy has beaten the ladies in the Kulshekar church.

Dysp Ganapathy had suicided not because of the police department issues but because of his family issues. Even the police department knows about it. Do you know, after his suicide, all most 2 to 3 days, the police vehicle were near his wife's apartment and investigating the cause of the death. Neighbours very well knows the life style of the dwellers in that apartment and when the death of Ganapathy happened , then, they knew the apartment belongs to the Ganapathy's family.

Now Dysp Ganapathy is no more. Sad that the political parties trying to get the mileage at the cost of his death. Disgusting.

Fantastic - kudos to the CBI for recovering a 'bullet' after such a long time! Do we need any greater evidence of the CBI's competence?
