Mangaluru Nov 5: Mayor Kavitha is back with a bang in Karate ring after she managed to beat her opponent successfully to become the champion in women’s 65kg and above category during the national level karate championship here on Sunday, November 5.

Kavita stepped into the ring after nine long years and registered two victories and emerged as champion in women's 65 kg and above category.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil had to face Nisha Nayak in the finals. It was a tough competition and Kavita took lead with 7-3 points registering comprehensive victory against Nisha Nayak.

Kavitha Sanil was declared champion after she knocked down Nisha with her moves and punches.

Prior to this, Kavitha registered victory against Kavya Vaidya with 8-0 points in the two-minute bout for black belt kumite competitors.

Kavita has won many championships in the past. She was a champion from 1996 to 2008.

Kavitha Sanil is a professional karate champion and despite her political role, she has maintained her form. But I feel sad to see that MANY people are just outright jealous and pass sarcastic comments just because she is a lady and a achiever. Typical Indian gossip mentality, that doesn't let us grow either in sports or any other field.

Hats off to Kavitha sanil. We need more achievers like you.

It was no surprise for Mayor Kavita Sanil to win gold in Karate championship. She was already a Karate champion from 1996 to 2008. We must appreciate her determination. Madam, my special salute to you on winning this match.

A champion is always a champion. A true sports person always got the guts to withstand against opponents. Mayor Kavitha , in spite of her political career, she was the only ONE politician who came for the protest seeking justice for Kavyya, student of Mudubidri college, died under mysterious circumstances.

Mayor Kavitha may come across obstacles but she will overcome all the hurdles and will be the CHAMP.

Girls and boys arround Mangalore need to learn Karate to defend them selves from Morals Policing. Member of Moral policing get drunk in the night and wait for the opportunity to trap & strike innocent and weak people to extort money during day time as they do not have any job to earn money.

One kick at the right place will bring down all the liquor and bring them in to their senses. Even their God fathers also will think twice before hiring uneducated goons for such Jobs.

Siddu also tried a punch on Mayor Kavita Sanil at a function resulted in Kavita busting into laughter!

If i had tried to punch Kavita Sanil then she would have busted into anger & booked me under IPC section 420, 840 & 1260!!!

Earlier Baba Ramdev also won a wrestling match against a world champion!!!

Mayor Kavita Sanil is a great inspiration to the young people of not only Mangaluru but for the whole of Karnataka.

It is not at all easy to juggle between being a mother of small children, a job and then a discipline like Karate.

How many people waste their life once they become parents!

Those who give up on life's challenges easily need to learn a thing or two from Mayor Sanil.
