BJP's stint not short-term, will govern for at least 50 years: Amit Shah

Bhopal, Aug 19 (PTI): Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah has said his party has not come to power for mere 5 or 10 years, but at least 50 years and called upon workers to strengthen the party and take it to every part of the country.

Shah also said that though the BJP appears to be at its peak with a majority government at the Centre and 1,387 MLAs in states the workers feel the party has still a long way to go.

"Today, we have a majority government at the Centre with 330 MPs, and also have 1,387 MLAs in different states. The party appears to be at its peak, but dedicated workers feel we have a long way ahead," a BJP release on Saturday quoted Shah as saying at a meeting with partymen.

"We have not come to power for 5-10 years, but at least 50 years. We should move forward with a conviction that in 40-50 years we have to bring major changes in the country through the medium of power," Shah said.

He was addressing the Madhya Pradesh BJP's core group members, office-bearers, MPs, MLAs and district chiefs, among others, at the party headquarters in Bhopal on Friday.

Shah arrived on Friday on a three-day visit to Madhya Pradesh for meetings with the BJP workers and office-bearers besides participating in various programmes as part of his 110-day nationwide tour.

The BJP president reminded the activists that the party has become a political force to reckon with due to hard work, dedication and sacrifice of its leaders over the years.

Today the BJP has become a party of 10-12 crore members because of many stalwarts who have dedicated their lives in building and strengthening the organisation, said Shah, according to the release.

"We have to ensure no place in the country is left where we don't have our flag. For this, we have to strengthen the organisation further," Shah said.

"Character is the basis of our foundation," he said, and called upon the BJP workers to ensure the party is present in every (polling) booth, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Kamrup to Kutch.

Mr Amit Shah you might have record number of MLAs in the centre and equal or more MLCs in the state but you have no quality in none of them. Sad to say out of all these record numbers you don't at least one dedicated outstanding defence minister, a deputy prime minister, a popular finance minister, a quality governor in RBI, needless to mention quality ministers of other ministries. More over your CMs in all states ruled by your govt are not worth even mentioning thier names. Can't you just show some people friendly modern talents and compete with your opposition. We need some modern intelligent govt with innovative competitive ideas which is people friendly and not destructive and divisive.

There is enough proof in your writing that you are one of the totally blind bhakt!

How else could you demean an Indian who is just asking for better governance?

What is wrong for Indians to wish and seek impartial, non-divisive and above all corruption-free governance imparted by qualified and disciplined personnel and not rapists, thieves, thugs and murderers?

Unless of course you also fit in these categories or else you are just as existing as a pebble that is kicked around.

Life expectancy in India rose to 65 years in 2012 from 32 years at the time of independence in 1947, but its infant mortality rate 50 deaths every 1,000 births remains among the highest in the world.India's death rate according to CIA world factbook is about 7 per 1000. Based on this, 8.4 million people die every year in India which comes to 22,500 per day approximately.

More Than 5 lakh people get killed in India every year only on roads.More than one in 10 deaths globally was caused due to smoking in 2015 and over 50 per cent of them took place in just four countries, one of which was India.Heart attack kills one person every 33 seconds in India.India reported 1.1 million deaths due to air pollution in 2015.Above all that deaths new trend of mob lynching may ensure another good percentage of population reduction with communal riots.

I would like to thank Amit Shah for acknowledging that present reforms taken by the PM Modi government is failure and won't produce any result even before 2015 if all humans of India is still alive.
In present state of India even basic necessity of oxygen can't be made to hospitals on time and rich protein of 'Dal' imported and simmering tension in borders 50 Years seems to be virtual world.
As of know Indians can only dream of 'alice in the wonderland'.
