Mangaluru: Jessy Pinto unanimously elected as president of KORWA

Mangaluru, Jul 11: Konkan Overseas Returnees Welfare Association (KORWA), a social service organisation, held its general body meeting recently at Olives at Mallikatta recently. Jessy Pinto was unanimously elected as the president for the period 2017–19.

The main agenda of the meeting was the election of the new executive committee for the period 2017-19. The election commission led by Elias Sanctis began the proceedings of electing the new committee. David D'Souza was elected as the vice-president, Flora Hislop as general secretary, Greta Gomes as joint secretary, Vilma Menezes as treasurer and John Fernandes as cultural secretary.


   






Jessy Pinto thanked and sought everyone’s support and cooperation for a successful tenure.

Earlier, the meeting commenced at 7.30 pm with a prayer by Flora Hislop. Outgoing president Louis Lobo heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement. He also thanked the sponsors, well wishers, media friends and people who supported KORWA.

A short presentation highlighting the achievements of KORWA, to its committee members for the term 2016-17, was given to the audience by secretary Meera D'Souza, which was well received and appreciated by all. Treasurer Ronald Gomes presented the financial report and it was approved by the members.

Flora Hislop proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude towards everyone who supported KORWA.
