Puttur, Jul 11: In an incident which happened at Medarabettu near Kadavinabagilu, Uppinangady on the morning of Tuesday July 11, a gang intercepted a tempo carrying LPG cylinders and robbed money from the driver and assaulted him.

The victim has been identified as Abdurrahman alias Addu, a resident of Matha. He works as the driver of a LPG cylinder delivery van. As usual, he had set about his task today too at 5.30 am but was soon robbed by the gang.

The miscreants seated in a Maruti Omni suddenly approached Addu when he reached Medarabettu, he stated. The gang smashed the wind shield of the tempo, dragged the driver out, and attacked him before forcibly snatching Rs 9,000 he had with him and fleeing from there. The gang had four members, it is learnt.

Abdurrahman, who was found lying seriously injured at the spot, has been admitted into a private hospital in the town.

A case has been registered in Uppinangady police station.

    Nowadays only robbery,assault,and killing is on the run.Noone wants to work hard.what a bad days ahead we will be facing .Noone knows when he goes out ,if ever he returns back.Whoom to blame?Hard punishments should be given to criminals,otherwise day by day it is only becoming still worse.did the victim notice any car number?it would help.Noone was nearby or heard the tumult?

    Police must regularly petrol highways to prevent theft. There must be tough action against culprits wjo committed this crime who doesnt deserve any kind of mercy. A very notorious incident

    Every one knows who are the culprits behind the issue and there is no need to express it. Let police investigate the issue decently and arrest the real culprits and leaders behind them under goonda act. Govt should compensate the Driver suitably.
