Karwar, Jun 1: Hasan Rahim Khan willingly converted to Hinduism and became Rahul Arya to marry his sweetheart Yashoda Honnegowda.
Hasan, now Rahul, is 24 while Yashoda is 19. The marriage took place at Yallapura near here on Wednesday, May 31.
The wedding ceremony was performed as per Hindu rituals at the Shiva temple at Yallapura. Before that Hasan Rahim was converted into a Hindu as per rituals.
Rahul Arya is a construction worker. He has been in love with Yashoda for the past four years. They decided that they should live together as man and wife. They also thought it was appropriate to practice same religion. Hasan agreed to become a Hindu.
Couple said that the marriage did not face opposition from both their families. .
Rahul Arya also said he did not face any pressure or threat from anyone for or against converting to Hinduism.
