Mysuru: Deve Gowda says JD(S) to face Assembly polls alone

Daijiworld Media Network-Mysuru (RJP)

Mysuru, Apr 19: Putting a full stop to the rumours that JD(S) will have a pact with Congress for the 2018 Assembly elections, JD(S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda said his party will go it alone and will not have any tie up with the Congress.

Addressing journalists here on Tuesday, April 19, Gowda said “JD(S) has suffered a lot by aligning with the two national parties at different times. We will not repeat the mistake again,”

Only developmental work

“While the Congress is striving to regain its lost ground, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to begin his Navabharat scheme from Karnataka, by announcing new programmes. ‘Battle of money’ between the two national parties is getting bigger by the day and in this situation, the JD(S) will go to the people with just the developmental works executed during our tenure,” Deve Gowda added.

“As people have seen the 20 months of able administration of H D Kumaraswamy as chief minister, they will support us. People now understand the need for a regional party in Karnataka,” he opined.

No grand alliance

Dismissing the reports that said JD(S) would form a grand alliance on the lines of the one that was constituted in Bihar to defeat the BJP, Gowda said the JD(S) would maintain a safe distance from both the Congress and the BJP.

Secret pact with Congress

Gowda refuted the allegation of state BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa that said JD(S) had entered into a secret pact with the Congress and did not field its candidates in the Assembly by-polls from Nanjangudu and Gundlupet.

“I need not learn the ropes of politics from Yeddyurappa. We did not find it right to spend money for a term of just 10 months. Both the national parties have spent crores through backdoors. We are not in a position to compete with them.” Gowda said.

When asked about possible induction of former MP A H Vishwanath from Congress into the JD(S), Deve Gowda chose to remain silent.

It doesn't matter if JDS contests or not.

Siddu led INC is doing a great job in managing the state and focusing extensively on creating jobs, building infrastructure, welfare schemes, Irrigation, drought management etc.

K'Nataka is the last bastion for Socialist parties in the South. JD(S) still has a large rural base of voters intact with them, especially in certain pockets of Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Mandya, Hassana and Tumakuru. But they were not able to break into new areas like Coastal K'Nataka or Urban areas of bigger cities. It will be interesting to see how the supposedly Kingmaker can fare this time! Until then DG& Sons will wait like the proverbial vultures...

Mulayam said 'all alone' but son, Akhilesh back stabbed Father and went on 'honey mooning' with Pappu.! People of UP are clever enough kick both Pappu-Cukkoo out!
Now 'drama' of 'illicit affair" is going to happen, though Senior Gowda says 'no' .Son Kumarannna might go for new 'love affair". After all he is very much experienced in it!

Certainly Karnataka people need a Regional party like TMC, JD (U), BJD, or most probably AAP but not like JD (S). This Appa Maga, party won't do any good to Mangalore or any other districts of Karnataka except Hasan and Bangalore.

Since Yogi became CM am studying about him as he was tagged communal leader, Today i read one of shocking news again about yogi set up a college and has Muslim Principal.
And all the muslims in his constituency is praising him more than Hindu praising him.

Just to confirm the news i went to college website and cross checked and its true. i have a online friend from his place and while asking him, he didnt praise much about yogi but he said, man is not bad and not communal.

then how So called self secular tagged people made him communal i dnt understand.

or self secular tagged people dont understand real meaning of both words?.

I wish karnataka need a CM like Yogi which ever party comes. and current leader siddu, param, kumar, yeddy are far far behind then yogi, i guess Suresh Kumar from BJP is good person but he is soft, forget JDS, and from congress many are there if they stop re;igion appeasement...
