Bantwal: Gang attempts to rape woman near Vittal

Bantwal, Apr 12: In a complaint filed in Vittal station in the taluk, a woman has alleged that a gang had tried to rape her. The incident happened on Monday April 10.

The complainant, Khateeja, wife of Abdul Khader from Kanakody village has alleged that she was working in a plantation when a gang which arrived in a van, scolded her before attacking her with a wooden stick. She also said that the gang pulled and pushed her around and tried to rape her.  She has named the attackers as Muhammed Rafiq, Siddique, Abdul Rahiman, Puthu, Maimoona and Safiya.

Vittal police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
