Mumbai: Surekha Devadiga grabs medals at national sports event

Mumbai, Mar 31: Surekha Devadiga, daughter of Derebail Konchadi, Mangaluru residents late Sunder Devadiga and Sindhu S Devadiga has represented Maharashtra state in the 37th National Masters Athletic Championship. She has won silver medal and third prize in 4 x 100 meters relay competition, second prize and silver medal in shot put and third prize and bronze medal in Hammer Throw competition.

Surekha Hemanth is currently a resident of Worli, Dadar west, Mumbai and a student of Kannada department in Mumbai University. She is pursuing MPhil under the guidance of Mumbai University head Dr G N Upadhya. She also serves as the assistant secretary of women's wing of Devadiga Sangha, Mumbai.

National Master's Athletic executive president T O Jacob, secretary Jerald D'Souza, organizing vice president Nithin Vikhar, organizing secretary Sanjay Chavan, Vijay Pagar and other elite present on the occasion presented medals to Surekha and congratulated her.
