Intex launches 'IPL special' Aqua Lions 3G smartphone with 3,500 mAh battery at Rs 4,990

Expanding its Lions smartphone series, Domestic tech company Intex Technologies on 3 May launched Aqua Lions 3G in the Indian market at Rs 4,990.

Keeping the Indian Premier League cricket fans in mind, the company has named the phone after the Gujarat Lions, a team owned by Intex.

Here are the smartphone's specifications:

  • Runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box
  • Features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display
  • Powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz
  • 1GB RAM.
  • 5-megapixel rear, 2-megapixel front camera
  • 8GB inbuilt memory; expandable up to 32GB
  • Backed by a 3500mAh Li-Po battery
  • Available in gray, white, and champagne colour variants
  • The company claimed to deliver up to 6-8 hours of talk-time and standby time of 20 days. The battery saver mode is able to enhance its life by up to 50 per cent.

    The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Follo, Opera Mini, Intex Service, Clean Master, FreeCharge, Saavn, Hike messenger and many more apps.

    While launching the smartphone, the mobile business head of the company, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, said, "With Gujarat Lions, Intex has further strengthened its association with cricket and the youth. The Lions series will help reinforcing the brand association and enhance the connect with young consumers. The Aqua Lions 3G model is a power packed performer, with features and ergonomic design that will appeal not only to Gujarat Lions fans but all sports lovers."
