Watch: Super Fight League star Jason Solomon on what makes him the Delhi Don

There was a time when Jason Ramesh Solomon wore a suit and clocked in at a regular nine-to-five banking job. But that was a while ago, seemingly in another lifetime. Today, Jason's swapped the office for an MMA cage, and his suit for fight shorts and gloves. A graduate in business management and international marketing, Jason is, today, one of the most recognisable faces in India's burgeoning competitive MMA circuit.

Captain of the Delhi Heroes in the recently concluded Super Fight League, Jason has been ever present in Indian MMA ever since the Super Fight League came to India in 2012. Since then, he's fought eight times in the Super Fight League, winning seven and losing just once. His tenacity and technique has made him a fan favourite, with his name being chanted every time he makes his way to the ring.

For all of his hard work, though, Jason actually shot to fame for a rather embarrassing reason. A supremely cocky fighter in his early years, as he readily admits, a video of Jason getting knocked out when viral. The video's virality was largely due to Jason's pre-fight antics, and, after being shared by the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mike Tyson, racked up over nine million hits.

However, as he does in the ring, Jason took the unwanted popularity on the chin to emerge both stronger and more focused. This new found focus has shone through in the most recent season of the Super Fight League, where Solomon has shown resilience to emerge victorious time and again.

A fierce fighter in the cage, Jason's also a strong ambassador for the sport, and the Super Fight League, when he's outside the octagon. Speaking to Catch moments before the finals of the Super Fight League, Jason talks about his MMA journey, the future of the sport in India, and what it takes to be a success in the world's fastest growing sport.
