Watch: Gun shots fired at Ravindra Jadeja's wedding
Cricket ace Ravindra Jadeja's wedding ceremony invited controversy when celebratory gunshots were fired at his wedding procession in Gujarat on 17 April.
The gunshots were reportedly fired by the cricketer's relatives. The video footage also shows the gunshots frightening the horse ferrying the bridegroom. The police has launched an investigation into the matter.
IBN 7 quoted a police official as saying, "We got the message from our control room. We are checking the footage. Even if shots are fired from a licensed weapon, it can be done only in self-defence. The offence, if proved, can lead to a jail sentence of 3 years."
On 16 April, Jadeja was seen brandishing his sword during his sangeet ceremony in Rajkot, ahead of his wedding to Reeva Solanki.
