Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, who is also commonly known as PV Sindhu, became the household name in India after she brought the Olympic silver medal home in Badminton at Rio Olympic 2016 finale. PV Sindhu is one of the two players who had won a medal in the Olympics. Other than PV Sindhu, shuttler Saina Nehwal had also won the Olympic medal for India. Sindhu is also the youngest India player to make a podium finish in an individual event at the Olympics. She is also the only shuttler to make India enter the final of Olympics.

1- In 2016, Sindhu is the first Indian to win Silver in Olympic games.

2- Sindhu has remained unbeaten against Chinese players at World Championships

3- Sindhu played the longest women’s singles final in the history of World Championship vs Okuhara that lasted for 110 minutes.

4- PV Sindhu is the first Indian to reach Olympics and World Championship final.

5- Sindhu is the third Indian shuttler to win the China Open.

6- PV Sindhu is the first Indian to win three World Championships medals.

7- PV Sindhu is first Indian ever to win Korea Open Super Series.
