According to a PTI report, the man lay on the road unattended for about four hours after being hit by a truck in the district's Malipara area.

However, the man succumbed to his injuries.
"Dhiren Nayak was hit by a truck and lay on the road bleeding for about four hours as no one came to his rescue yesterday," the police told PTI.
A similar incident took place on 10 August in in Delhi's Subhash Nagar where a man was left to die on the street after being hit by a speeding tempo.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Matibool, lay in a pool of blood for over an hour while pedestrians just went about their business. What was even more shocking was that a person was seen approaching the victim, giving an impression that he might help but instead, the man picked up the mobile phone off the victim and sauntered off.
