Chetan Bhagat

Popular novelist Chetan Bhagat, who is very vocal to his political opinion and generally takes side of right wing, put a tweet on 1 April that drew a lot questions and condemnation from his right wing supporters. As usual, many jumped to the conclusion without reading the entire thing what was shared.

Bhagat, who is a fierce critic to the Congress Party, suddenly took to the twitter and announced that he is going to join the Congress in order to ‘make better India’ along with Rahul Gandhi. Many of his followers of 12 millions reacted differently on his tweet.

He had literally said “Couldn’t take it anymore. The country needs to be fixed. Joining Congress. Will be supporting their Karnataka campaign. With RG, let’s make a better India. Need your blessings in what is a big move for me. Details here: https://”

But was Bhagat, who made mockery many times of Rahul Gandhi, really going to joing the Congress party and work with Gandhi?

He also attached a link to his tweet but the link was not opened by many. The link which he called Details of his joining to the Congress was actually Wikipedia’s description about the April fool. And the tweet of Bhagat was a prank to make his followers April fool. He was not joining the Congress but he was making April fool to his followers. It was just a prank. Actually, he has no intention to join Congress.

Here are some reactions from Twitteratti
