After Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati visited Ahmedabad to meet the four Dalit boys who were attacked by cow vigilantes last week, the BJP took took digs at her, referring to her as 'Daulat Ki Beti', and saying that she will not be able to reap any benefits by instigating the Dalit community.

"Mayawati ji can go anywhere in the nation but she is not going to Bihar where the police baton charged the Dalits. They were beaten up by the order of the administration. The one who became 'Daulat ki Beti' won't gain anything by instigating the Dalits, where they are getting full justice. The 'Daulat Ki Beti' would soon get exposed," BJP leader Prem Shukla told ANI.

Shukla's comment came in the wake of Mayawati's visit to Ahmedabad to meet the victims who were earlier on July 11 beaten up at Mota Samadhiyala village of Una taluka in Gir-Somnath district of Gujarat by a group of cow vigilantes for skinning a dead cow.

Shukla brought the context of Bihar as the Dalit students from various colleges from the state yesterday protested over the scholarship scam in Patna.

The police baton charged the protesting students after a minor scuffle.

Earlier this year, the Nitish Kumar Government landed in controversy as a scholarship scam surfaced in Nawada district of Bihar.

Of the total of 60 students given scholarships in 2015 for the session 2012-13, only one was found genuine in a probe conducted by the district administration.

The amount disbursed for the scholarships was Rs. 1.03 crore. The SC and ST department pays an annual tuition fee of Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. two lakh to each of scholarship rewarded students.
