Anurag Kashyap interview: on 'selling out', piracy & Raman Raghav 2.0

For a man in the eye of many a censor board storm, auteur Anurag Kashyap has a zen-like air about him.

Whether it's Paanch, Black Friday, No Smoking or the latest - Udta Punjab, a lot of his projects have run into rough weather with the powers that be at the CBFC.

In this interview with Catch News, Kashyap talks straight about piracy - he isn't against the idea itself, but if those within "the circle of trust (director, distributor, producer)" breach a line and resort to piracy as a tool of vengeance, it hurts. Udta Punjab of course, was in the news because a print was leaked online before its release date. Something which a lot of people saw as a Pahlaj Nihalani below-the-belt jab at producer Kashyap.

And, just ahead of the next major project he's producing - Raman Raghav 2.0 - Kashyap also talks about the twisted perspective of Raman Raghav that intrigued him enough to come on board the project. He also explains why those who feel Kashyap is a sell out don't get that having big names in a project and 'selling out' to big banners can be mutually exclusive.
