Vaani Kapoor waited for a long time to get her second Bollywood project Befikre. The actress was pretty excited to work under Aditya Chopra,'s baton. Chopra had launched her in Shuddh Desi Romance, but the film did not really manage to help her gain desired appreciation. A source says, "Vaani had high expectation from the film, although the film did good business at box office, personally she has hardly got any positive response. In fact her co-star Ranveer Singh at least got few accolades from some critics."

It is said that this has not disappointed the actress as recently when she was asked about it in one of the events she said that it depends on person to person how they like a particular film and performance, as you cannot force them to like something. She also went on to add that along with lot of criticism, she has also received some positive feedback from audience on social media.

Meanwhile there was a buzz that Aditya Chopra was keen to cast her in Aamir Khan,Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs of Hindostan, but Aamir was not too happy with his choice, and suggested Alia Bhatt's name. Now the latest update it that Kriti Sanon might come on board as the lead in that film.
