Lufthansa South Asia Director on his expectations from Union Budget

"The aviation sector in India has been growing consistently and we feel this trend will only continue in the years to come," Wolfgang Will, Director, South Asia, Lufthansa Passenger Airlines said.

The announcement of the new civil aviation policy by the Ministry of Civil Aviation is a good sign and a boost for the domestic aviation sector, which will benefit the larger aviation ecosystem as well, he said.

While these measures are encouraging, the government needs to look at serious issues such as insufficient infrastructure and connectivity, high airport taxes, state tax reforms and, above all, ATF prices to truly drive growth in the aviation sector, Will said.
