GoAir offer students 5% discount on base fare, allows additional 10 kgs baggage

No-frills airline GoAir on Thursday announced special fares and additional baggage allowance for students, undertaking travel for admission purposes or returning home.

GoAir offered a flat discount of five percent on base fare besides allowing an additional 10 kgs of baggage to the students who travel extensively at this time of the year to appear for exams or are returning back and changing cities to join new colleges and schools, the airline said in a statement.

The additional baggage allowance of 10 kg, in addition to 15 kgs already allowed, would make it easier for them to pack more requirements without extra cost, it said.

Students with valid college identity cards can avail this offer across GoAir network of 22 cities, the airline said.

"We realize the mobility trend of students and recognized the need for a tailor-made program exclusively for our young fliers. This offer will give our student fliers access to exciting and convenient flight options as they plan their budget travel," Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Chief Executive Officer of GoAir said.

The Wadia Group-promoted carrier has flown 1.87 million passenger in the January-March period of 2016, logging a growth of 14 per cent over the same period a year-ago.

Its market share during this period stood at 8.1 per cent.
