Anil Kapoor essayed the popular role of a cop named Robert D’Cousta in the Race franchise. However, if you are expecting him to reprise it for the third installment then let us tell you that it is not the case! The evergreen star, in fact, will play a role completely different from his previous characters in this action series. If reports are to be believed he plays a patriarch in Race 3.

It is a known fact that Race 3 will have a completely a new plotline. While the Race doesn’t belong to Saif Ali Khan anymore, Salman Khan has come on board for it. Jacqueline who was a part of Race 2 plays the leading lady in this one. As for Anil Kapoor, who has been a part of it since the start, he will be seen in a renewed avatar.

The 61 year old star will be seen in a much suave look. While the previous ones featured him as a carefree cop, this one features him as a family patriarch. In the recently released picture, he is seen as a dapper looking businessman with a salt-pepper look. Though the word patriarch fueled up rumours about Kapoor playing a father to Salman Khan, producer Ramesh Taurani refuted the same. However, he did assert that the reports on him playing a patriarch are indeed true. Taurani also added that his role acts as a catalyst in taking the story forward.

On the other hand, Race 3 is said to be different from its other films in ways more than one. One of the most important facts is that Remo D’Souza has taken over the directorial reigns from Abbas-Mustan. Furthermore, it also promises to have a completely new set of actors. Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem and Daisy Shah are the other new names added to the star cast.
