Rakul Preet talks about signing Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary and working with Sidharth Malhotra

The pretty Rakul Preet Singh who has an extremely hot career in Telugu cinema going for herself, has so far not made much impact in Hindi cinema.

Not that she is sitting around moping about it. “It doesn’t matter which language I act in. It could be Telugu, Tamil, Kannada or Hindi…We are now looking at cinema as a global force. After Yaariyan I got busy with Telugu films. After doing 17-18 films in Telugu I was not really looking anxiously over my shoulder at a career in Hindi films. But when this opportunity to do this new Hindi film Aiyaary came along I had to stop and consider and take up the offer,” says Rakul.

The role she says clinched it for her. “I have a fabulous role. And Neeraj Pandey is a director I really look up to. Plus, I have a really good co-star in Sidharth Malhotra. What more can I ask for?’

Considering she is shooting for a new Telugu film, she would be flying between Hyderabad and Mumbai now? “I’ve my home in Hyderabad. So in that sense I am a Hyderabad girl. But I am hardly in Hyderabad as my films are shot in cities all over India and outside. So I live my life out of a suitcase. And really, I am a girl from an army family. You can’t pin down an army girl to any culture or city. India is my home. I am comfortable in every city,” she ends.

Rakul sheepishly reveal she has no idea of the shooting schedules for her new Hindi film. “I have a team to look after my dates. I will go where they tell me to, and when.”
