Here’s how photographer Ashish Sompura remembers the late Reema Lagoo : Bollywood News

Earlier morning today, the film industry was shocked with the sudden demise of actress Reema Lagoo. Lagoo, who had become synonymous as the loveable motherly character in numerous Bollywood films tragically passed away early today morning after suffering a cardiac arrest. While the industry poured out their heart felt condolences on social media, ace photographer Ashish Sompura who had done a photoshoot with the late actress, took to Facebook reminiscing about the past.

Here’s how photographer Ashish Sompura remembers the late Reema Lagoo

In a heart touching post, Sompura detailed what his experience was when he first met Reema Lagoo and how she made a difference to his outlook.

“There are moments in life which can change your destiny. When I close my eyes & remember
shooting Rima Didi’s Portfolio 32 years back in 1985. She was already a well-known star than,
and I was just a beginner, still she put a great faith in my ability as a portrait photographer. Chandrashekhar Gokhale suggested my name to her & brought her to my studio for profile pictures. After clicking few snaps in my small studio that time, she suggested for some outdoor shots.. My memory tells me that Gokhale took us to some posh bunglow in Vileparle & pataofied a watchman there, who then allowed us to shoot for some time. And that shoot with Rima Didi changed my goodluck in portfolio making. Many artists from Acting- Modelling field started pouring into my studio after that -for their portfolios.

Years later when she wanted her daughter’s portfolio clicked, she smilingly reminded me that
I had charged her only 600 rupees that time. And I told her that I’m so grateful to her that I don’t want single rupee from her. Her pictures gave me so much fame & push in my career that she will always be an angel in my memories…
