“I felt very comfortable in Shah Rukh Khan’s presence” – Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma debuted into Bollywood with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008. The actress was lucky to get a break with a flick that was directed by reputed filmmaker Aditya Chopra and starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. What made matters a bit tricky for Anushka is that she never got a chance to meet SRK before the film went on floors. She met him first only on the day of the shoot. Meeting a superstar on the first day shoot of your first film can be quite a nervous and daunting situation for any newcomer. But for Anushka, things went smoothly thanks to SRK who made things comfortable for her.

Said Anushka Sharma at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Jab Harry Met Sejal, “I met Shah Rukh Khan on the first day of the shoot of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. I was obviously very nervous as he’s a superstar and there were thousand things going on in my mind. But he was very nice and he congratulated me for bagging the film. Later on, I realized that he was quite chilled out due to which I felt very comfortable in his presence. He was not at all intimidating. He had hence been a huge support in my first film and this is something that I realized much later.”

Interestingly, Jab Harry Met Sejal also features Shah Rukh Khan as her co-star. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, it releases on August 4. In between, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma were also seen sharing screen space in 2012 in Yash Chopra’s swan song Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which also starred Katrina Kaif. The trio are all set to collaborate for SRK’s untitled next, in which he will be seen as a dwarf. This Aanand L. Rai directed film will release on Chritmas 2018.
