Commuters travelling on the Mumbai Metro between Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar (VAG) line had to face Monday blues with the Metro services getting delayed for around 45 minutes, as the services were disrupted. It is said that there was some technical snag in the rolling stock (coach) after which the faulty coach was parked at platform 1 of the Ghatkopar Metro station forcing up and down operation to be affected, as there are only two lines on the stretch.

The pilot of the Metro found some technical issue in the coach and to avoid any emergency the pilot instructed all the passengers to get down at Jagruti Nagar Metro station, which is right before Ghatkopar Metro station, before parking the coach at Ghatkopar.

A Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) spokesperson, said, “At 6:30 pm, due to technical problem in one of the trains, there was a delay of three minutes in the services of Mumbai Metro. Standby train was inducted into the system to make up for the delay.”

However, commuters took to Twitter claiming the services to be delayed by 40 to 50 minutes.

Akshay Shah, a patron, tweeted, “Some technical snag with down and up, both sides #Mumbaimetro now, local train like rush inside and on stations too! #beware.”

Another twitterati, tweeted saying, “Metro bani Virar local, bheed ke mare AC ne hath kade kiye. (Metro turned into Virar local, due to excess crow the AC has stopped functioning)”.
