Police to contact CBI over RCN against Suresh Pujari

The Thane police is likely to submit documents regarding fugitive gangster Suresh Pujari asking the Central Bureau of Investigation to issue a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against him. Sources in the Thane police revealed the process had begun and the fingerprints of the gangster were being gathered from records of his past cases. Senior officers said the decision was taken after the arrest of five of Pujari’s associates on Friday in connection with the shots fired at Ulhasnagar-based builder Sumit Chakraborty’s office in July.

A senior official said the police was planning to add sections of the MCOCA to the FIR registered in the Ulhasnagar firing incident. “We will add stringent sections under MCOCA in the said FIR,” he said.
