Cops nab man who lied about his ‘wife’

The Juhu police has arrested a lawyer for addressing a woman as wife despite not being married to her. The advocate Raj Amar Singh Gulali was produced in court and the court remanded him in police custody till Wednesday. Commenting on the incident, a police official from Juhu said the complainant is a Juhu resident and acquainted with Gulali. The complainant in her complaint told the police that Gulali used to introduce her as his wife to others.

Later, he allegedly moved the family court claiming that she is his wife and she should stay with him. However, he did not have a single document to produce in court to justify his claim of addressing her as his wife. The application was rejected by the court due to lack of evidences, but later he moved the high court and filed the same application. Again the application was rejected by the high court.

Following the frequent court cases, the woman approached the police and filed an outrage of modesty complaint against Gulali. The Juhu police registered the complaint a year ago, but the moment the complaint was lodged Gulali escaped from the city and since then the Juhu police was searching for him. “He was caught by our police team three days ago,” said an official. Later he was produced in court and court remanded in custody till June 29.
