25-year-old man takes own life at SGNP

A 25-year-old allegedly hanged himself after having an argument with his wife in Dahisar. The body of the youth was recovered in the forest area of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park on Friday evening by locals.

Dahisar police has registered an accidental death report and is taking statements of the family, relatives and friends of deceased. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Ramesh Padu (25).

Padu was staying in the Lakshmi Gajanan Rahivasi Sangh of Rawalpada area in Dahisar with his wife. The preliminary police inquiry has revealed that he was upset with his wife and used to fight regularly with her. On Wednesday morning too they fought over a domestic issue before leaving for work. Later in the evening his wife tried calling him but his cellphone was switched off, which worried her. She then informed their relatives, who then tried to search for Padu, but could not find him.

During a search for Padu on Friday evening, locals found a body hanging in the forest. After seeing the body, locals informed the police. According to the police officials, animals had eaten away at the body but they managed to identify it as his because of his shirt and wallet. Padu was working as a wage labourer, the police said.

The police has registered a case in the matter and is taking the statements. Their initial inquiry has revealed that the deceased was depressed due to regular domestic disputes.
