The BJP theme song, Mera desh badal raha hai, will soon be the ringtone of majority of mobile holders in Uttar Pradesh.

The BJP theme song, Mera desh badal raha hai, will soon be the ringtone of majority of mobile holders in Uttar Pradesh.

As part of its election campaign in the state, the party plans free downloads of its theme song, especially in the rural interiors of the state.

“We are in talks with ma-jor mobile service provide-rs and will be launching the scheme from October. The idea is to take the the-me song to every mobile user who is also a voter. The song is inspiring and catchy and is already on everybody’s lips,” said a senior party functionary.

The theme song, which was launched in May to mark two years of the Modi government, is already the ringtone of majority of the BJP leaders in the state. The 1.10 crore party members also have this ringtone and the party will soon start making random checks on the registered mobile numbers.

“We will be ‘gifting’ the ringtone to all registered users and we may be laun-ching free subscription for a month for those who accept the song as their ringtone or caller tune,” the party leader said.

BJP strategists feel that with the Modi song “ringing in every ear”, the BJP campaign will reach every nook and corner of the state, even if the candidates miss out on any village or locality.

The strategists believe that the theme song is so inspiring and patriotic that it will take care of a major part of the campaign. “It is already popular and will help tremendously in the campaign,” the leader said. A leading mobile service provider admitted that talks were underway and the plan would be implemented as soon as the modalities are worked out. “However, if any customer objects, we will remove the ringtone/ caller tune,” he added.

The BJP has also finalised three slogans for the UP campaign — “Abki baar, BJP sarkar”, “Goon-daraj na atyachar, Sabke sapne ho sakaar” and “Bh-edbhav na bhrashtachar, ab kewal BJP sarkar”.

These slogans will be written at three places in every booth area with only a lotus (the BJP symbol) by its side.

“The slogan writing will begin soon so that it gets imprinted on the minds of the voters before the model code of conduct is imposed,” the party leader said.
