MNS to file FIR against Tanmay Bhat for mocking Lata, Sachin

MNS Chitrapat Sena president Ameya Khopkar demanded that the video uploaded by Bhat be removed immediately.

Comedian Tanmay Bhat's purported video in which he mocked veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has evoked a sharp reaction from MNS which said it will lodge an FIR against him over the portrayal.

"Tomorrow morning, I am going to visit Shivaji Park police station and file FIR against Bhatt," 'MNS Chitrapat Sena' president Ameya Khopkar said tonight.

He demanded that the video uploaded by Bhat be removed immediately. The comedian posted the video on May 26 on Facebook titled 'Sachin vs Lata Civil War' and cracked apparently not-so-funny jokes about both these legends.

Meanwhile, DCP (Operations) Sangramsingh Nishandar said, "No FIR has been registered in this issue as of yet".

Using a Snapchat face swap filter, Tanmay first imitated Sachin and hurled swears at Virat Kohli and then he took a dig at Lata.

Some of the punchlines used by the comedians were:

“Phuck Virat. No, I’m very respectful for Virat. He is very good with bat and ladies.”

“Lata tai namaskar. Very respectfully I’d like to add that you are 5000 years old.”

“Your (Lata) face looks like someone has kept you in water for eight days.”

“Just look at you. Jon Snow also died, so you (Lata) should also die.”

The comedian’s humour didn’t go down well with people as soon enough he shared the video on Internet, his post was bombarded with negative feedbacks. Reacting to Tanmay taking a shot at legends like Sachin and Lata in the new video, fans along side Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to slam his act.
