Dalit woman paraded naked, cops deny incident

Exactly a year after five dalit women were stripped and paraded naked in Hareva village in Shahjahanpur district, another dalit woman was subjected to a similar ordeal on Monday in the same district.

According to reports reaching here, land dispute between two groups in Khairatia village in Khutar took an ugly turn when people of one group entered the house of the dalit woman, belonging to another group, on Sunday night when her husband and other family members were not present.

The men pulled the woman out of her house, stripped her completely and beat her up. The accused men then paraded her naked through the village. The victim was constantly slapped and beaten with sticks and rods. When she fainted, the accused men dumped her near a pond and fled.
