Woman cop accuses judge of harassment

A woman sub-inspector posted with West Delhi’s Nangloi police station has alleged that she was har-assed by an additional sessions judge of Tis Hazari Court. The woman on Monday had gone for hea-ring of a case when she had an argument with the judge. The SI then fell ill and went out of the courtroom where she vomited. She was then taken to Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital where she was given preliminary treatment.

North Delhi DCP Madh-ur Verma said that they have received a complaint of verbal misbehaviour from the woman SI again-st the judge. The compl-aint was reportedly filed with the Sabzi Mandi police station.

In her complaint, the woman has reportedly alleged that P.K. Mattoo, an additional sessions judge in Tis Hazari Court, called her corrupt. She has further alleged in her complaint that she was allegedly threatened by him to call her DCP and other senior officers.

She has alleged that she fell unconscious after the judge scolded her. She called the PCR from the hospital to report the matter. The SI has also submi-tted a medical certificate along with her complaint which states that she suffered from chest pain and vomiting because of the verbal misbehaviour.

According to the information, the police had to produce a witness before the court. The ACP and the SI attended the court proceeding and told the court that the witness was not living at the said old address. On this, the court rapped the ACP and SI. After this, the woman SI and the judge had a verbal argument.
