As the anti-corruption branch again issued a notice to former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, water minister Kapil Mishra on Thursday accused lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung and ACB chief M.K. Meena of showing “fear and nervousness” in probing the Congress leader in connection with the alleged Rs 400-crore water tanker scam and said he will “expose” the same with documents.

“She has to go to jail. There are five FIRs. But this fear and nervousness which Mr Meena and the L-G are showing... I am going to expose this with documents,” Mr Mishra said. He alleged that the ACB was going slow in questioning the ex-CM by asking her to join the probe as per “venue and time of her preference”. While on the other hand, he said, the inquiry of members of the Delhi government by a fact-finding committee, which is probing the alleged scam, began “within a day” after Ms Dikshit made a demand in that regard in a letter to Mr Jung.

“Every day, members of the fact-finding committee are being summoned (for inquiry). These are those members who went through the documents and pointed towards the irregularities during Ms Dikshit’s tenure. But they (Mr Jung and Mr Meena) are asking Ms Dikshit to join the probe in August at a place and time of her preference. So, what kind of fear is this in acting against her ” he asked.

Mr Meena said, “Notices have been sent to Sheila Dixit and a few DJB officials. They shall be questioned on August 26.”
