The Delhi police special cell has arrested one Amit Jaani who had left a country-made pistol in a DTC bus in April, asking a volunteer to kill Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid. A pistol and some bullets, along with a letter threatening to kill them, was found on a bus frequently used inside the JNU premises. The cops had arrested Saurabh Agarwal and Sulabh Bhardwaj for allegedly writing a threat letter to assassinate the two JNU students and leaving a country-made gun inside a DTC bus.
Agarwal, the police had said, is the brother of Amit Jani, the self-styled leader of the group UP Navnirman Sena. In the letter, allegedly written by Jani, it was mentioned that the weapon was to be used on Kanhaiya and Umar.
