The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has revised its admission fee for fresh admissions for the 2016-17 academic sessions. The new fee structure will be based on the recommendations of the Delhi Fee Regulatory Commission. With new fee structure in place, students will have to pay Rs 70,000, an increase of about Rs 30,000, at the time of their admission. The directorate of higher education for 74 private educational institutes affiliated to IP University has issued a notification to this effect.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had himself ordered to roll back the revised fee structure. After this, education minister Manish Sisodia had issued clear directions to IP University to roll back the revised fee hike.
