The Delhi Congress is all set to hit the streets on Monday in the national capital to protest against the Centre’s Land Acquisition Bill.

The Delhi Congress is all set to hit the streets on Monday in the national capital to protest against the Centre’s Land Acquisition Bill. Thousands of the party workers are likely to join the demonstration organised by the Indian Youth Congress against the bill at Jantar Mantar.

The local unit of the Congress, under the leadership of its newly-appointed president Ajay Maken, held a marathon meeting with veteran local leaders to finalise the modalities of the proposed Jantar Mantar protest. Congress’ in-charge of Delhi P.C. Chacko, former MPs Sajjan Kumar, Mahabal Mishra and Ramesh Kumar and former Speaker Yoganand Shastri attended the meeting. Party leaders from the rural belts, including Narela, Burari, Bawana, Mundka, Nangloi, Vikaspuri, Najafgarh, Matiala, Bijwasan, Mehrauli, Chhattarpur, Tuglaqabad, Badarpur, Okhla, Patparganj, Karawal Nagar, Ghonda and Gokulpuri were also present. Mr Maken said that the Congress would in no circumstances accept the bill in its present form.
