Times Now's Hector Kenneth Kumar moves to NewsX

As managing editor, Kumar will manage day-to-day newsroom operations and strengthen the news-gathering process.

NewsX has augmented its leadership with the appointment of Hector Kenneth Kumar as managing editor, NewsX. The channel has lined up aggressive growth plans and the addition of the new leader is in line with the plans.

Speaking about his new role, Kumar says, "I'm excited to join the NewsX family and happy with the energetic and passionate newsroom. The role provides me with an exciting opportunity to shape the future of TV news. I look forward to contribute my bit to the operations and achieve new heights with everyone's support."

Kumar is an engineering graduate from MIT Manipal University, who worked briefly as an engineer before venturing into mainstream media. He was a core team member of the Times Now launch team. His contributions took the editorial function of the channel to new heights as he is skilled in aligning business goals with the news strategy of the organisation.

Commenting on the new appointment, Kartikeya Sharma, founder and promoter, ITV Network, says, "We are delighted to induct a seasoned leader on board at this important juncture and we are confident that his experience and understanding of news will help us achieve our objective of sustaining the leadership in the genre and set new benchmarks in Indian news television."

In his new role, Kumar will manage day-to-day newsroom operations and strengthen the news-gathering process. His rich experience in output, input, broadcast operations, and editorial strategy will provide leadership insight to the NewsX editorial team.
