Jaguar XE sedan was unveiled at Auto Expo 2016 and the brand's facebook followers were in for a treat!

The all-new Jaguar XE made its way to India in time for the Auto Expo 2016 and its launch was broadcast for the brand's Facebook fans worldwide via Facebook Mentions.

Car makers in India are among the top users of social media. Few years back we had only two or three players experimenting online but now most of the auto makers continously engage with their online fans. Keeping up with this spirit, Jaguar went a step further to engage with their online community by broadcasting the launch of their all-new sedan Jaguar XE from the Auto Expo 2016. Auto Expo is a biennial automotive show, which is currently going on in Greater Noida and will conclude on 9th Febuary. It is Asia's largest and the world's second-largest motor show.

In order to live stream the launch, the brand used Facebook's new Mentions Platform, which allows sharing live updates on the brand’s Facebook Wall.

Facebook Mentions is a new app from the social media giant, which only allows verified public figures/brands to talk to their fans and each other on the go. This platform enables people to share their story as it happens via live video feed.

Conceptualised by FCBULKA DIGITAL, this innovative digital campaign is the industry's first of its kind and it aimed at engaging the brand's online community and sparking off a conversation between them. In the video Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif made an apprearance as the swanky red Jaguar XE was being unveiled. The online broadcast of the launch lasted for 23 minutes during which it garnered, 2.67 Lakhs views and was shared 2,274 times. Besides that, the video got 29,404 likes and was commented on 1,713 times.

Prior to this, in the year 2015, FCB ULKA DIGITAL & Twitter India had conceptualised and executed the first ever Periscope car launch experience for Jaguar Land Rover India’s new Discovery Sport. This activity offered the live car launch experience to Land Rover's Twitter fans (@JLRIndia) via Periscope, allowing followers to tweet and interact as it happened.
