Chintan Katare joins nexGTv as head of ad sales, India

Katare will work on designing and offering differentiated marketing experiences for leading brands. He moves in from Mogae Media, where he handled the monetisation of mobile ad inventories.

nexGTv, a digital entertainment destination, has announced the appointment of Chintan Katare as head of ad sales for India. In his new role, Katare will be responsible for designing and offering differentiated marketing experiences for leading brands, which will help in upscaling engagement within the digital domain, given the growing adoption of mobile as a preferred entertainment medium.

Chintan Katare joins nexGTv as head of ad sales, India
With over 15 years of business development, marketing and relationship management experience, coupled with knowledge of the digital and mobile marketing domain, he will work towards leveraging nexGTv's reach and engagement among Indian consumers in Tier I and Tier II cities for national as well as regional brands.

Katare joins nexGTv from Mogae Media, where, as part of the leadership team, he oversaw the monetisation of mobile ad inventories of leading brands such as Coke, Honda, Suzuki, Videocon, and LG, providing relevant mobile and digital solutions, at the same time. Expressing his views on mobile internet revolution, he says, "The explosive growth has evolved user habits, and they are increasingly doing a lot more with their handsets. Rich media is the emerging reality for the industry, accounting for nearly 25 per cent of the industry's revenue. It is expected that, soon, almost half of the mobile data consumption in India will be driven by video, which means that there exists tremendous potential for innovation-led business models. As India's leading entertainment destination, nexGTv is an expert in this domain."

"Speed and mobility are the engagement cornerstones of the fast emerging smartphone generation. It's been challenging for brands to continue to find new ways to keep this consumer engaged and entertained, at the same time. nexGTv, quite literally, represents TV on your device. I am, therefore, really excited to join other leading professionals and help expand the advertising route in an organisation that is, in essence, subscription led," he adds.

Commenting on Katare's appointment, GD Singh, director and CEO, DigiVive, says, "We're extremely happy to have Chintan's expertise in our team. He comes at a time when the industry is experiencing a tectonic shift with sales of smartphones and consumption of mobile-based video entertainment going through the roof on one side, and subscriber engagements with their handsets becoming increasingly personal on the other. nexGTv's cross-platform availability across 7000 plus handsets presents brands and marketers with an unparalleled opportunity to connect with diverse customer communities in a host of original ways, to either kick-start or strengthen their ongoing marketing initiatives."

nexGTv is DigiVive's application offering consumers unlimited entertainment across multiple devices such as mobile, tablets and laptop/PCs. It offers its viewers a suite of 155 plus live TV channels, along with a content library comprising movies, TV shows and videos, across genres. It claims to be amongst the top 10 entertainment applications in app stores, having won 'the best digital experience' award at World Communication Awards, 2014, in London. Their partners include telecom operators and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Aircel, BSNL, MTNL, Reliance, MTS and Karbonn Mobiles.

Established in 2010, DigiVive is a group company of Media Matrix Worldwide, providing expertise across direct to consumer and managed value-added services.
