ZenithOptimedia India, part of the Publicis Groupe, has been appointed as media planning and buying partner by Viber, a mobile app company.

The business win follows a competitive pitch process, that saw the participation of around five media agencies. The evaluation process was held in New Delhi recently.

Anubhav Nayyar, country manager, India, Viber, says, "We partnered with Zenithoptimedia Group as we really liked their thinking and strategic approach to our marketing challenges as well as their excellent track record of helping create new age brands like Micromax and Olx."

"We are really excited to partner with a brand like Viber for their India ambition. The brand, and the category, gives us an even better opportunity to demonstrate our 'Live ROI' proposition," adds Satyajit Sen, CEO, ZenithOptimedia India.

ZenithOptimedia, a global media services network, has 250 offices in 74 countries. In India, some of the agency's key clients include Nestle, Micromax, Olx, LVMH, Honda, Toshiba and Telenor.

Viber is offers services like call, text, photo/location sharing, to any other Viber user, anywhere, from iPhone and Android phones. Viber's HD voice calls, delivered over 3G or Wi-Fi, offer better sound quality than carrier networks, claims the company. Viber to Viber mobile calls are, and always will be, free, the brand promises.

Viber current has millions of users across India.
