SIMARA: Defending champions Prime Polyclinic Bijay Youth Club defeated Saraswoti Youth Club in sudden death to enter the semi-finals of the Ruslan eighth Simara Gold Cup here on Sunday.

The match was decided in sudden death after a goalless draw in the regulation period and a 3-3 tie in penalty shoot-out. In sudden death, Bijay Youth’s Ashok Thapa scored the match-winning goal after Saraswoti’s Sujit Budhathoki hit wide. Earlier in the penalty shoot-out, Bijay Youth’s Sunil Bal, Suraj Bista and Abishek Rajal converted their shots, while Jonam Ligal, Senehang Limbu and Ramesh Ghishing scored from the spot for Saraswoti.
