Saptari fire guts property worth Rs 1.7 million

RAJBIRAJ: Property worth around Rs 1.7 million was gutted when a fire broke out in Bhardah VDC-3 of Saptari district on Thursday Evening.

The fire started from the cowshed belonging to local Kapaleshwor Majhi, and quickly spread to two nearby houses. The fire destroyed Kapaleshwor's own house and that of his neighbour Gajendra Majhi, according to Area Police Office, Bhardaha.

A tractor, a threshing machine, a bicycle, crockery and food grains stored in the cowshed were gutted in the blaze, said police.

The fire was taken under control with the help of the locals and police.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, said police.
