State bodies pushing Nepal to anarchy: Shekhar Koirala

LAMJUNG: Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala said state organs and constitutional bodies were trying to push the nation toward anarchy.

Speaking at a function organised by his party in Lamjung district headquarters Beshishahar today, Koirala said the Supreme Court, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and the Local Body Restructuring Commission among others were trying to lead Nepal to anarchy.

He pointed out that all those bodies did not have a good relationship with the government to justify his claim.

"Where does it lead to?" he questioned, adding some foreign forces might have been involved in promoting anarchy in the nation.

Meanwhile, Koirala stressed that the parties should focus on Constitution implementation to avoid any untoward consequence.

He also suggested the ruling parties including own NC to take the main opposition CPN-UML and agitating Madhesi parties into confidence for the same.

Speaking in a different context, Koirala said the NC could not play a strong role in the incumbent coalition government though it was the largest alliance member.

Commenting on the party's internal affairs, he said the party activities were marred by growing factionalism.

He urged party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to give full shape to the party departments and call the Central Working Committee meeting.
