Myagdi driver along with Bolero jeep goes missing

BENI: A driver along with his Bolero jeep has gone missing since Tuesday night in Myagdi district.

The jeep (Ga 2 Pa 3660) with its driver Ramesh Khadka disappeared along the Beni-Jomsom road stretch when it was en route from Beni, the district headquarters to Uttari Ghar, according to District Police Office (DPO), Myagdi.

The police and the locals have launched a search operation at the Beni-Pokharebagar section along the Beni-Jomsom road following information from the missing driver's relatives, Myagdi's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bishwa Raj Khadka said.

The police claim to have found a tarpaulin sheet in between Kali Gandaki River and Bainsari road in Bhagawati-2, but could not find the vehicle and the driver.

The DSP said police have been mobilised in and around Kali bridge bus park of Beni and Kali Gandaki River at Pokharebagar to search for the missing vehicle. The jeep had made its last contact at Baisari before it went missing. The driver's family informed the police only on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a house was completely gutted when a fire broke out at 3: 30 am at Bhume locality of Darwang in western Myagdi.

The fire destroyed clothes, food commodities including cash when it engulfed a house belonging to Lilaram, locals said. No human casualties have been reported.
